General Window Cleaning Tips
Equipment:
- Bucket of clean warm water
- Small quantity of good quality, suitable liquid detergent
- Scrim, leather cloth or synthetic cloth
- Large sponge or cloth
- 12" squeegee (optional)
- 14" T-bar cloth applicator (optional)

Directions: Using leather or synthetic cloth and scrim
1. Lather up the window from top to bottom
Use a large sponge or cloth and cover the window with soap and water.
2.
Wipe the soap from the window
after thoroughly rinsing and ringing out the cloth or by using a second cloth.
3.
To buff up the windows
use a thoroughly rung out scrim or dry cloth.
4.
Now use the large sponge or cloth
to wipe down the windowsills and clean up any spillages.
5.
If you have replacement windows
use specialist PVCU cleaner.
Directions: Using squeegee and cloth T-bar applicator
1. For a professional finish on larger areas
like patio doors, a squeegee and a T-bar cloth applicator give the best results.
2.
Soak the clean T-bar cloth applicator in the bucket
Make sure that you ring it out by running your hand across the applicator.
3.
Soap up the window from top to bottom
Do this using left to right movements.
4.
Clean the rubber blade of the squeegee
Do this using a clean cloth.
5.
Firmly press the squeegee against the window
Starting from the top left hand corner of the window, push the soap to the right
hand side using left to right movements.
6.
Repeat this movement for the entire window
7.
If you still have soap on the glass
use the scrim, leather or synthetic cloth to remove.
8.
With a bit of practice this will get easier
Remember to change the rubber blade of the squeegee regularly.
9.
Wipe down the windowsills
and clean up any spillages with the large cloth.
